Adopt a American Staffordshire Terrier / American Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat)

Blaze is a two year old American Bulldog/Boxer/Stafford-shire Terrier mix. He is 52 lbs and was found as a stray. He is currently with a foster in West Milton, PA. Blaze came to us on his last day at a kill shelter. His first foster Dad seen him, and wanted to help save this handsome baby. Blaze was granted an extension till 11:00 the next day when the shelter opened. Some awesome people in NC were able to reach out to us, and ask K9C42C for help. We couldn't let him die... Blaze was saved the next day. Blaze went from the kill shelter to a boarding shelter in NC. He was having some difficulty adjusting to kennel life, and he was getting sick. He stayed in NC a little longer to build strength and put on a little weight before being neutered. 

 Blazes foster Mom says "he's a silly dog". He will do what dogs around him are doing. A bit of a "monkey see Monkey do" you might say. Blaze loves to play and play with his foster sister Jade. He is generally "ok" with other dogs as long as they tolerate his puppy like antics. Blaze prefers to eat his meals in his crate probably partially from being on "the run". He is still learning not to gulp his food and is hand fed occasionally. He is making progress. 

Blaze does show signs of a moderate to high prey drive however, is easily re-directed. He loves to play with toys, and will walk around with a tug toy in his mouth, until someone plays with him. He's great at fetch, and loves to sleep in bed, but will give you space. Blaze would do best in a home with older respectable children or no children. He likes to be the big baby, and will cry a loud whimper when he needs your attention. He is crate & house trained. 

Blaze is heart worm negative, neutered, UTD on shots & vaccines, and micro-chipped. Blaze is a true love. He has made his way to PA from death row in NC, and is now finally ready to find his happily ever after and begin his Second Chance.
